Bloober Team Is Bringing Back the Original Silent Hill With a Full Remake

Following the success of their Silent Hill 2 remake, Bloober Team has received the green light to tackle the franchise’s very first game. Konami made this exciting announcement during their Press Start showcase on Thursday, confirming that the Polish studio will now develop a complete remake of the original Silent Hill.

The reveal kept things mysterious, showing only the iconic Silent Hill logo slowly appearing through thick fog while Akira Yamaoka’s haunting original soundtrack played in the background. Konami hasn’t shared any details about when we can expect this remake or which gaming platforms will support it.

Partnership Continues After Previous Success

This collaboration isn’t entirely surprising. Back in February, both companies hinted at working together on another project. Bloober Team’s CEO Piotr Babieno expressed enthusiasm about their ongoing partnership with Konami, noting how their previous work on Silent Hill 2 proved successful for both studios.

“Working with Konami has been extremely rewarding, and Silent Hill 2’s reception shows what we can accomplish together,” Babieno mentioned earlier this year. He couldn’t reveal specific details but emphasized that fans would be thrilled about their next collaboration.

Returning to Where It All Started

The original Silent Hill launched on PlayStation back in 1999, introducing players to Harry Mason’s desperate search for his missing daughter Cheryl in the mysterious town of Silent Hill. The game became famous for its psychological horror elements and disturbing revelations about Cheryl’s true identity, creating a lasting impact on the horror gaming genre.

Bloober Team’s Silent Hill 2 remake is currently available on PlayStation 5 and PC, giving players a taste of what they might expect from this upcoming project.
